I’m sure if you’ve played The Sims 3 for long, you’ve always been wishing for a way to skip the The Sims 3 intro. Not all mods are complete game engine overhauls, which seems to be stereotypical with the idea of modding in general. It may not exactly show off everything that modding is capable of, but it does show off how modding can tweak at a very minor and specific level. (If you’re new to modding, please read “Installing Sims 3 Package Files” before reading on.)Įver had a particular loading screen that you had a preference for, but lost it after installing a new expansion or stuff pack? With this very simple mod, you’re given the ability to revert your loading screen back to your favorite one, from the springy loading screen of Outdoors Living, to the simplistic blue loading screen of the base game. I decided to pick out two mods that I found in Mod The Sims that I believe fit just those requirements.
With this post, I hope to give those new or skeptical to mods a new impression on modding The Sims 3. To introduce modding to someone who has never installed one to their game before would require introducing them to a basic “warm-up” mod that sufficiently displays what a mod can do, and just how helpful they could be.
In many cases, that holds true, but to associate modding with the “hardcore” gives it a more intimidating light to casual players, when in reality, it’s no different than installing content straight from The Sims 3 store, albeit requires a bit more steps to it. When it comes to The Sims games, installing mods has always been considered a “hardcore” or computer savvy player’s activity.
